A Visit To Harewood Castle!

I went for a bike ride to Harewood, to see the castle.
I used to go there when i was a kid in the 1980's.

Entering Harewood...

The village shop.

The entrance to Harewood House.

The pub.

The main road...

The path to the castle is at Bondgate!

Public footpath this way...

My great Grandma lived here in the 1940's and 1950's (after she left the farm at Brackenthwaite).

Follow the path...

Through the tunnel..

To the wooded pathway...

And you will find The Castle!

Lets cross the stream and explore...

All the doors and windows are boarded and barred up, so i could not get inside (when i was a kid i used to be able to get inside and go up one of the towers).

Looking inside...

Looking inside again...

One of the towers!

Peeking inside...

Lets look in here....

Not much to see!

Me outside the castle!

Time to leave...

Thanks for all the pictures! I'm actually descended from the Redmayne/Redman family that lived in this castle for a couple of centuries long ago. It's very neat to see this!
