A Visit To Worksop!

After my wander around Sheffield, i got on the Lincoln train and arrived at Worksop station!
This is a small pub that is part of the station building (it used to be the cafe). I had a pint in here before going back home, early in the evening.

I decided to take a picture of Mr Straw's house...

When Mr Straw died, his house still had furnishings from 1923.

I walked into Worksop town centre, and saw a new sign next to the canal...

There are Worksop Trail signs all around the town, with info about the history of Worksop.

A closer look...

Worksop lock.

The pedestrianised town centre.

This is where the new market is held.

The site of the old market, and another Worksop Trail sign...

I got some lunch from the Top Town Diner fish and chip shop!

It was very tasty!

I had a walk around the Memorial Gardens.

This is Castle Hill.

Newcastle Avenue, with St Annes church in the background...

Another Worksop Trail sign...

I went for a pint in the White Lion.

Then i headed back to the train station, calling in at a few more pubs on the way ;-)

A Visit To Sheffield!

I decided to have a day out in Worksop (i used to live there 30 years ago). I had to change trains at Sheffield, so i decided to have a look around before getting the Lincoln train (which passes through Worksop station)...

Here are some pics of Sheffield train station!

This is Sheffield Town Hall...

This is the entrance to the Sheffield Winter Garden...

I had a look around inside,  as its free entry.

I left out of the back entrance, which is near...

The Crucible, which is where the world snooker championship is held.

This is Sheffield City Hall.
I saw Iron Maiden here back in 1998.

Then i got the train to Worksop....

I Had A Wander Around Knaresborough...

I had Wednesday off work this week, so i decided to go to Knaresborough for the afternoon, and do a bit of shopping...
This is Knaresborough market, which is here every Wednesday!

Me at the market...

I had a wander around the castle grounds, and then walked down to the riverside...

I called into Rascals cafe for a fried English breakfast, and a pot of tea!

Afterwards, i had a pint in the Royal Oak and then got the bus back to Wetherby...
